Spin, Spin, Spun

The Wheel of Life spins every instant that goes by. What is up comes down and what is down goes up. What goes ahead stays behind and what is behind goes forward. Everything changes. It’s like the process of breathing – inhaling and exhaling. The air that comes in becomes the air that goes out. Comes and goes. Goes and comes. Everything in life is constantly changing, constantly moving. And sometimes this movement is imperceptible to our eyes.

Change generates fear and suspicion. The vast majority runs away from it as fast as possible. But there are a few who break away from the standard. Those are the ones who understand the natural rhythm of life.

Unconsciously, it's in our memories that change is something negative. That the safe and right way is for life to be constant. At least, that's what we've been led to believe. But this isn't the law of life. Just observe the seasons of nature. They undergo through major changes. From the seed that gives rise to the tree, which in turn gives us flowers and consequently fruits. And finally, the falling of the leaves, which, in turn, nourish the soil. Everything in life is made up of cycles: it's born, grows, matures and dies. And everything in our lives must obey this. An idea is born, which grows, matures, and finally, is transformed—that is, dies and is reborn in a new form. Every night, when we fall asleep, we die to this reality, and we're born to the reality of dreams. The very day dies, giving way to the night, being reborn the next morning.

It's necessary to lose the fear of death to live fully. Because death is life and life is death. One does not exist without the other. What is born now died in another state, and what dies now changes state.

The law of life is constant renewal.

The cycle itself is made of renewal. The seed ceases to be a seed and becomes a tree. Flowers die as flowers to become fruits. And all these phases of life are beautiful! They are essential. This is what makes life a constant surprise. Because everything is constantly changing.

The secret to embracing change with open arms is to believe that any change is always positive. And that in this process of change, evolution is inherent. And everything that evolves is processed in an upward motion.

Everything that ends and dies is because it no longer serves any purpose, is no longer needed. It's because we've already learned the lesson we came here to learn and it's necessary to move forward. Every person, situation or experience we attract serves a higher purpose: to teach us something to go beyond, to surpass ourselves. The question we must ask ourselves in these times of great change is this: What can I learn from this? What does this teach me?

Because every experience has a lesson to be learned. And when the lesson is learned, there's no need to maintain the experience. And that's when change occurs. And the more we flow with it and do not get attached to the situation, person, or experience, the better the change happens, without so much suffering.

Suffering only happens when we resist change.

When we cling to something that no longer makes sense in our lives. And when we accept change, we free ourselves from the burden that is the suffering of being tied to, and move forward. We say Yes to Life. Because living is moving forward, evolving, accepting change. Everything that doesn't accept change stagnates and dies naturally.

In a relationship, whatever its nature, must also exist change. Because the very people who are part of the relationship also change and grow. When there is no change, that's when stagnation occurs. And everything that remains stagnant spoils and rots. We ourselves need to change to avoid stagnation. When we stagnate in life, we create space for disease. Because life happens through constant renewal. It's dynamic.

Disease arises because a part of us doesn't want to change, evolve, or grow. It resists change. Every disease is associated with a lesson to be learned. It's something that has been stored within us, in our bodies, that creates weight, resistance, and doesn't flow with life. It's something that is the result of an experience that was lived but not understood, and therefore created emotions of grief, anger, sadness, resentment, etc., that need to be brought to light, to the surface, made aware, understood, and released, so we may evolve. It's a shift in perspective that needs to happen so we may be happier, to be more ourselves.

Disease is, indeed, a signal from our body that something within us isn't flowing with life. It tells us it's time to change something within ourselves. It arises as an opportunity for great growth, when we become aware of what truly causes it. And the greater our resistance to change, the more serious the disease will become. What doesn't accept the natural change of things creates opposition, and consequently, attracts death.

The death of our body is the greatest change. And when it occurs, it's when we reach the end of our journey here on Earth and need to move on to a new place. To evolve. This is our great surrender to Life—that is, humbly surrendering ourselves to a Higher Power and returning the body that was lent to us to accomplish all our purposes here on Earth.

“ In Nature, nothing is created, nothing is lost,

everything is transformed.”

Antoine Lavoisier
